Choirs at Parkhill

Four choirs

Varsity Treble Choir — for 7th and 8th grade treble singers, with four concerts and UIL Concert and Sight-reading preparation.

Non-Varsity Choir — for 7th and 8th graders newer to choral music, building music reading, vocal technique and ensemble blend.

Tenor/Bass Choir — for 7th and 8th grade singers with limited previous choir experience.

Applause — the select pop ensemble, which rehearses outside the school day. Auditions are held in the fall.

What Families Need to Know

Student fee — $60 for the year

Uniform cleaning $10 · choir shirt $20 · music and supplies $30.

Paid in your Membership Toolkit account: $20 at signup, then $20 each quarter.

Uniforms

The school provides the uniform. Singers wearing a dress receive a dress; singers wearing a vest receive a vest, bow tie and white tuxedo shirt, and purchase their own black slacks. All students provide their own black dress shoes.

Uniforms are never machine washed. They are returned in the spring and cleaned by a professional dry cleaner.

Alterations are the student’s responsibility, and no fabric may be removed from the garment. A finished dress hem must be exactly 2 inches off the floor when wearing concert shoes, sewn with black thread and small hemstitches — no staples, tape, safety pins or fabric fuse.

Private lessons and absences

Private voice lessons are $25 per lesson, a rate set across the district by the Office of Fine Arts.

If an excused absence is anticipated, send written or email notice at least two days in advance.

Parkhill Choir Handbook 2026-2027

The handbook is the governing document for fees, uniforms, grading, attendance, eligibility and travel. Students and parents acknowledge it in Membership Toolkit — there is no paper form to return.
